BROOKLYN COUNTRYSIDE

This week, Brooklyn Industries brings to you our 2011 Fall collection, featuring 1970s-inspired styles, a warm color palette and rustic, yet haute and polished detailing from fit to fabric.

Inspired by the juxtaposition of English countryside and the rocker elements of the 1970s, the collection includes flattering silhouettes, vintage accents and creative work-wear ensembles.

The collection features an introduction to wool outerwear, jackets, dresses, skirts, trouser-style pants, sweaters, sheer styles, plaid buttondowns and classic hoodies that can be worn now and long into fall.

The Brooklyn Countryside campaign was photographed by Brooklyn Industries CEO Lexy Funk in Prospect Park, the urban oasis located in the heart of the borough. For more photos from the campaign, click here.

WANNA MAKE IT BIG?

Attention New York City area independent musicians and bands! Brooklyn Industries, SESAC, The MuseBox and Reverb Nation have teamed up to present the NYC RISING Musician Scholarship Program. What does this mean? Five winning bands will receive a comprehensive prize package to help them make it big, including publicity and promotion services, a CMJ Showcase, a Brooklyn Industries store performance and much more. NYC bands can enter for a chance to win here. But hurry! Entries are due August 24, 2011.

A panel of judges will assess all entries and choose 25 artists to compete in the finals, where fans and friends can vote for their favorites. Stay tuned for instructions on how you can vote for your favorite artist later this month!

COMING SOON: HOTEL WILLIAMSBURG

This month, Brooklyn Industries is excited to announce a long-term partnership with the soon-to-open Hotel Williamsburg. Brooklyn Industries plans to outfit all workers of the new full-service luxury boutique hotel in Brookyn Industries limited edition apparel. The hotel, located at 160 North 12^th St. in Brooklyn, plans to open its doors in a couple of weeks.

The hotel’s debut uniform collection is entirely curated with Brooklyn Industries’ limited edition apparel. The first uniform capsule features a blue and grey color palette, lush with signature Brooklyn Industries women’s dresses, men’s transitional weather blazers and an array of dress pants and casual shorts. The hotel’s uniform collections will be updated two to three times a year.

The uniforms will outfit all workers of the hotel, including the front desk staff, bellmen, wait staff, bartenders and room attendants.

Brooklyn Industries decided to partner with Hotel Williamsburg due to the hotel’s commitment to the local Brooklyn community. The hotel plans to source the majority of its resources and talent locally. It also plans to support local art and music events.

WINNERS REVEALED

Next Tuesday, August 16, Brooklyn Industries will celebrate the winners of BKI’s 2011 T-Shirt Design Contest at the T-Shirt Design Winners’ Event at BKI SoHo. The designs submitted this year were of the highest design caliber, so much so that three honorable mention winners were selected in addition to the grand prize winner. This is more winning designs than ever selected before. New to the winners’ pool this year is also the BKI Kids T-Shirt Design Contest winner, which was selected out of designs drawn by children who attended Park Slope’s Fifth Avenue Street Fair earlier this year. Stay tuned for the final reveal of all winning designs in the coming days, but in the meantime mark your calendar for August 16, and stop on by. Drinks provided by Brooklyn Gin and Brooklyn Brewery. Beats provided by DJ Gatsby.
