Our Boston location on 337 Newbury Street opens tomorrow. To celebrate we’re launching Boston Tweet Week and a T-Shirt Design contest!
Boston Tweet Week runs from April 5th through April 9th. Here’s how it works: Check Brooklyn Industries’ Twitter, Facebook or Words from the Watertower blog every day (April 5th through 9th) at 1 PM EST for the Boston Tweet Week password of the day. After you have the password, and after 2 PM, visit Brooklyn Industries’ Boston location and win BKI merchandise if you’re the first person to tell a store associate the password.
And if you’re design savvy our BKI’s Boston T-Shirt Design Contest launches today! We’re accepting submissions through email@example.com through May 14, 2010. Designers can enter for the chance to win their t-shirt printed on a limited edition tee, as well as take home a $300 BKI gift card. Plus, we’ll through the winner a party at our Newbury Store.
We’re excited for all the fun things to come!
Evan, our men’s buyer, gives us some insight on just how great the Dreamland Shorts are.
“I remember a few years ago when I wasn’t a shorts kind of guy. There was something about seeing a grown man wearing a pair of baggy cargo shorts that always just made me think of a really tall toddler. So I would sweat it all summer in the denim and chinos that I wore most of the rest of the year. Often I was not a happy man. Thankfully we are now living in the time of the non-toddler short. The key is in the fit: something that hits just above the knee and fits like your favorite pair of trousers through the leg (read: slim, but not tight). With a specially developed washing technique, smooth and subtle herringbone twill cotton fabrication, and piecing details at the belt loops these are the best way to stay cool and look sharp.”
Meet Korina! She’s a sales associate at our Williamsburg location, and also one of our star models in the new campaign (see awesome image below). Korina tells us her New York story and what LIVE, WORK, CREATE means to her. Interview by Lexy Funk.
Our Summer 2010 Collection has arrived, with lively super-imposed photographic imagery from the 1960′s! Our new campaign was inspired by vintage travel and features BKI employees. Throughout the month of April we’ll be profiling employees in the campaign on the blog and in the BKI Community section of our site!
The women’s collection is lush with color-blocked knit sweaters, fashion fleece, relaxed fit pleated pants, trench coats, two-way dresses, and comfortable cotton skirts. The men’s collection is complete with lightweight super soft hoodies, blazers, casual and dress shorts, slub cotton polos and custom plaid shirts.
Don’t be shy. Tell us what you think!
This weekend Lexy was interviewed at our Philadelphia location for an FYI Philly segment on Channel 6 news. Fast forward to about 5 minutes and 30 seconds in and you’ll see one of Philadelphia’s to fashion editor’s introduce the Spring trends and where to buy them (Hint: our stores!)

We’re photographing our new summer 2010 campaign today. It’s raining outside, but inside it’s all smiles. The new campaign, which is being photographed by Lexy, will feature BKI employees! In our sneak peak photo below Pattra, our women’s wear designer, is being photographed by Lexy with the help of our stylist Allison. Pattra is wearing our Nightlife Dress and a necklace from our cool new jewelry line. Both will be available soon!
