BOSTON TEE PARTY HONORS CONTEST WINNERS

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Good times were had by all at last Friday’s Boston Tee Party event. BKI fans came out to support the winners of the 2010 Boston T-Shirt Design Contest and to see their final designs printed on t-shirts. On display was grand prize winner Bartow’s “Handlebar Moustache M.” Bartow drew this “hairy-faced” bicycle design while on the bus in Boston. Also honored was Carey G’s “Ye Olde Fixie M” design – a depiction of what kind of bike Sam Adams might be riding if he were around today. The event also featured DJ Frank White spinning.

Here are some photos from the event, as well as more background on the inspiration behind the winning designs. Congratulations Bartow and Carey G!

BOSTON RECEPTION SUCCESS

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Our Boston opening reception last Friday was a great success. We celebrated the opening of our new store on 337 Newbury Street with friends and family while enjoying delicious food and drink and the sounds of the awesome DJ Frank White. Without a doubt, Boston has a vibe like no other city. Those who call it home are super smart, super fun and the kind of people we like to mingle with. Below are some snapshots from the event!

FUNK stands for Lexy Funk, Brooklyn Industries’ entrepreneurial co-founder and CEO. Funk officially began sharing her vision of LIVE, WORK, CREATE in 1998 and has grown the company to fourteen locations in five cities!

The Royal Bears t-shirt, which re-imagines a popular album cover, is perfect for music lovers!

The Tweet Week Password of the day is SUSTAINABILITY. Be the first to say it at our Boston store after 2 PM and take home the Hourglass Cardigan (in Peacock, size medium.)

Brooklyn Industries has deep roots in sustainability. Finding inspiration from a vinyl billboard found in a dumpster, Lexy and her partner began making recycled billboard messenger bags in an effort to design something unique, practical and innovative for the community. Brooklyn Industries continues to look for ways to be sustainable today, from our upcycled store designs to powering stores with 100% wind. Our latest campaign features BKI employees against the backdrop of vintage travel images.

The Marauder Backpack also happens to be one of our best accessories for travel right now. It’s military inspired with tons of pockets and pouches and has a deep interior. Go get it!
