CONQUER WINTER ANGST AT BOLD SPRINTS

Tomorrow night, January 20, 2011, Boston cyclists and fans will convene at the Good Life Bar in Downtown Boston to see the first of monthly Bold Sprints events. The fast-paced indoor bike race series is a chance for cyclists “to spin and sweat off that winter rage,” while listening to the dance beats of Alfredo and DJ Mayhem. Winners of the sprints will receive bike-centric prizes provided by event sponsors Brooklyn Industries Boston, Pabst, dig Boston, arc-en-siel bicycle studio, Superb Bicycle, Geekhouse Bikes, and Seagull. Stop on by!

BOSTON TEE PARTY HONORS CONTEST WINNERS

Good times were had by all at last Friday’s Boston Tee Party event. BKI fans came out to support the winners of the 2010 Boston T-Shirt Design Contest and to see their final designs printed on t-shirts. On display was grand prize winner Bartow’s “Handlebar Moustache M.” Bartow drew this “hairy-faced” bicycle design while on the bus in Boston. Also honored was Carey G’s “Ye Olde Fixie M” design – a depiction of what kind of bike Sam Adams might be riding if he were around today. The event also featured DJ Frank White spinning.

BOSTON RECEPTION SUCCESS

Our Boston opening reception last Friday was a great success. We celebrated the opening of our new store on 337 Newbury Street with friends and family while enjoying delicious food and drink and the sounds of the awesome DJ Frank White. Without a doubt, Boston has a vibe like no other city. Those who call it home are super smart, super fun and the kind of people we like to mingle with. Below are some snapshots from the event!

Our CEO Lexy Funk – who worked as a professional photographer before co-founding Brooklyn Industries – snapped many of the shots on our website right now. Our latest campaign features BKI employees against the backdrop of vintage travel images.
